Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF), in partnership with the prestigious Fudan University Ob/Gyn Hospital (the Red House Hospital), founded the Shanghai Ji Ai Genetics & IVF Institute China-USA Center in 1998 in Shanghai, China. Shanghai Ji Ai is headed by Professor Weipeng Zhao, well-known American Chinese medical scientist and expert in the areas of urology, andrology and reproductive medicine, and director of GIVF International Division. With the support of Dr. Joseph D. Senior managerial personnel, physicians, and key technologists of the Shanghai center have all been trained at GIVF. Shanghai Ji Ai has an extraordinarily strong and experienced medical team, with 17 full and associate professors and chief physicians, and 10 PhD and MS level scientists. With continued training and academic exchanges between GIVF and Shanghai Ji Ai, our physicians and technicians ensure they are providing the most advanced and highest quality patient care available.
Shanghai Ji Ai has achieved 16,000 successful births since 1998 and has attracted patients from across China and from 34 nations around the world.
Shanghai Ji Ai has also introduced many advanced genetic and reproductive technologies to China. In addition to many other accomplishments, Shanghai Ji Ai was the first clinic in Eastern China to perform ICSI, first in China to achieve a frozen egg birth and first to be approved by the Shanghai Municipal Health Administration to provide PGD services in Shanghai.
