GENETIC SERVICES

Every parent hopes to have a healthy child. The good news is most babies are born healthy. However, some families and couples planning to have children may be faced with the diagnosis of a genetic disease. Genetic diseases are not uncommon, and a significant proportion of childhood birth defects or adult onset chronic illnesses are due to genetic conditions. Increased risk for a fetal genetic abnormality may be due to family history of a hereditary disease, advanced maternal age during pregnancy, exposure to medications or environmental hazards, or other factors. Genetics & IVF Institute assists people who seek answers about the usefulness of genetic testing during their family planning: before conception, during IVF treatments, in an ongoing pregnancy or understanding pregnancy losses or recurrent miscarriages.
