Medical staff
Our medical staff is composed of leaders in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility, andrology, laboratory medicine and genetics. We utilize a unique integrated approach to reproductive medicine that allows for superior management of the most complex and challenging problems. We frequently care for patients who have failed treatment elsewhere or who have been turned away from other programs because their cases were too complex.

Our physicians have extensive experience and are all board certified. They have published widely, have presented at national meetings, have been the recipients of honors and accolades and have held and continue to hold medical school faculty appointments.

Services provided
Genetics & IVF Institute offers the most specialized services of any practice in the country. In addition to excelling in the evaluation and treatment of infertility, we also have an outstanding third party parenting program which includes the largest and most thoroughly screened and immediately available donor eggs and donor sperm (through Fairfax Cryobank, a part of GIVF). We were one of the initial centers in the country to perform preimplantation genetic diagnosis and have more experience than any other regional center. Preimplantation genetic diagnosis can be performed for aneuploidy screening, prevention of genetic disease to patients known to be at risk (translocation carriers, sickle cell anemia, non-disclosing Huntington’s disease, etc) or for family balancing. In addition, we created Microsort, a technique to enhance gender selection for prevention of genetic disease and family balancing. Other technologies to enhance prevention and detection of genetic disease, maintenance of fertility and improved implantation are currently being investigated.

Our facilities
In April 2006 we moved to a brand new state-of-the art facility with the newest, most sophisticated equipment available today and in the area. We are one of a few centers across the country and the only center in the Washington metropolitan area to have comprehensive on-site basic science and genetic laboratories and 3D-ultrasound machines. Our facilities feature an aesthetically pleasing, open and serene spa-like setting, plentiful parking and easy access to major commuter routes, public transportation and local airports. To provide patient convenience, we have satellite offices in Bethesda, MD and Ashburn, VA.

Approach to Patient Care
We believe in practicing both the science and art of medicine. Infertility and its treatment can be emotionally, physically and financially demanding. Our goal is to provide the best quality care available and yet at the same time minimize some of the emotional and financial stressors.

We treat each patient as an individual and pride ourselves in providing compassionate, caring and personalized care. Despite a high volume of patients, we create an intimate environment by having a small team of physicians with a physician to patient ratio of only 3:1. Our physicians actively participate in all aspects of patient testing, care and communication and we know our patients well.  In addition to a primary physician, each patient also has her own primary nurse and primary financial counselor to further enhance continuity of care. The treatment plan that is created for an individual takes into account the medical situation in addition to the patient’s unique personal needs and desires.

To minimize emotional and psychological stress, we also have an on-site clinical psychologist, patient care coordinators, on-site acupuncture services, and on-site massage therapy. We offer various support groups for individual and couples and informative lectures for patients and the community.
