The International Division of the Genetics & IVF Institute (GIVF) was founded in 1996. It is headed by Professor Weipeng Zhao, well-known American Chinese medical scientist and expert in the areas of urology and reproductive medicine. Supported by Dr. Joseph D. Schulman, founder of GIVF, as well as encouraged by relevant leaders from China’s Health Ministry, the International Division succeeded in launching its China project, bringing in advanced genetic and assisted reproductive technologies of GIVF to China, through the establishment of Ji Ai, to help infertile couples in China conceive the healthy babies they desire.

GIVF International Division established the Ji Ai Genetics & IVF Institute China – USA Center in Shanghai, China in 1998. Senior managerial personnel, physicians, and key technologists of the China Center were all trained at GIVF to ensure managerial and technological unison with GIVF and compliance with relevant WHO standards as well. The center provides IVF, NSA, and ICSI services etc., with official passage of the inspection conducted by China’s Health Ministry, and are government designated providers of assisted reproductive technologies in China.

Ever since the establishment, Shanghai Center has accomplished over 5,000 successful pregnancies. The success rate averages as high as over 45 %, taking the lead in China.
