GIVF Nurses

Primary Nursing

Primary nursing is the foundation on which patient care at GIVF is based.  Each one of our doctors is teamed with one nurse who works seamlessly with the doctor on each and every patient from the first time the patient comes to the GIVF clinic and throughout treatment.  In this way, as with any team, the doctor and nurse establish a very efficient relationship whereby they complement one another in the delivery of patient care.  This relationship between the physician and the primary nurse ensure that the GIVF medical team has a total picture of the specific needs of each patient and that there is continuity of care.

This strong ethic of teamwork does not end with the GIVF medical team.  In a sense this close bond, in essence, brings each patient into the partnership with the doctor and nurse on their treatment and specific needs.  The patient benefits because throughout their treatment there are familiar faces and a medical team that truly gets to know the patient as an individual.  This continuity of care is of great benefit to the patient because at any time there is one person they can call with any questions or requirements.  And the person that they call is someone they know and trust.

Behind the scenes the primary nurse works with the complete range of GIVF professionals who support the primary team from other nurses to the lab staff and even the professionals who deal with the business issues related to treatment.  The primary nurse is intensely involved on the full range of treatment from reviewing lab results and medications to making sure that the patient is comfortable and at ease.  Enhancing the patient experience, from success rate to those intangibles that stand behind every step in the process is what GIVF is all about.  Primary nursing is the centerpiece in achieving that goal.
